Kitchen, Bath & Whole-Home Remodels
Project management from the first wish-list to the last fixture, with the designer on site and working directly with the trades.
Chapter 01
What a remodel uncovers
Every remodel has a stretch where the house tells you what is really inside it. The studio's own Selah project is the plain example. In 2022 M. Brewer Properties bought a foreclosure there hoping to find a gem, and what the studio got was, in its words, "a whirlwind of surprises, termites, red tape, months of holding periods for attorneys & county permitting."
The gallery captions for that job read "The scaries!" for the before photos and "It gets WORSE before it gets better!" for the stretch in between. An 11th hour decision put the finished house into the 2023 Tour of Homes, and the remodel went on to earn M.B. Designs the Central Washington Home Builders Association 2023 Remodeler of the Year.
That is the honest shape of the work. A good remodel firm does not promise a house without surprises. It promises to be the one who handles them.

A designer on site, talking to the trades
Greg Thomas and his wife hired the studio to update the main living level of their family home of 35 years: floor coverings, painting, a remodeled kitchen and three bathrooms, all built around a slab of Tempest Blue quartzite they already owned for the island. In his Google review he wrote that Abbey "spent time onsite and worked directly with subs to ensure attention to details."
He also wrote that she could "supply and schedule quality tradesmen to complete the details once a final design was approved," and that questions and concerns were promptly answered. Kara Mohler's review says much the same from the other side: "They coordinated everything for me & hired the most amazing companies to install everything."
Behind that sits the way the studio is built. Each team member shares a role in every project, weekly team meetings keep everyone informed, and constant communication with the contractors keeps the designers available to you.
Chapter 03
After the install, they are still there
Kara Mohler's review has one line that every remodeler should want written about them: "From start to (a much later) finish, they were there every step of the way." Remodels run long, and a firm that stays in the conversation through the long middle is worth more than one that only shines on day one.
She adds, "And now when we need repair work done, they stand behind their work too." The studio is a licensed Washington contractor, and the number to call afterward is the same one you called at the start.
Planning for the years ahead is part of the first conversation as well. The new client questionnaire asks about ADA and age-in-place needs, and the studio's gallery includes a curbless walk-in shower with a fold-down seat and a grab bar.
